New for 2007: Koru
Koru
Koru is a Native term referring to a renewal or the
springtime rebirth of life. We thought this was a fitting name for
our new technologically advanced composite canoe. The process of
bringing the Algonquin and Ojibway hunting canoe designs back to
life took us just over two years. We carefully adapted the design to
modern paddling styles and found just the right material and layup
to leapfrog competitors. By adding tumblehome and extending the
waterline slightly with less rocker, we were able to provide a
swift, efficient and comfortable paddling experience for our
customers.
Optional Infused Composite for lighter
weight
Tumblehome
Contoured classic cane seats
Solid wood gunnels
Sculpted carrying yoke
Sliding bow seat
Water drainage slats in gunwales and endcap

Penobscot
Penobscot 16 / 17 / 186
Named after the Native American tribe that has
inhabited Old Town, Maine, since before recorded history —
and from whom we've gained immeasurable boat-building
knowledge — the Penobscot is an homage to their superb
craftsmanship, sense of design and navigational skills.

Appalachian
With just enough rocker to provide excellent
maneuverability in the rapids, and flared ends for dryness
and buoyancy, the Appalachian is a very impressive 16-foot
river runner. Its shallow arch and hull offers great initial
and secondary stability, and whitewater tripping enthusiasts
will particularly appreciate the canoe's quick response and
tight handling in conditions up to Class III. It can be
paddled solo or tandem, with a 1,441-pound carrying
capacity, the Appalachian is also a great choice for family
outings or day trips.
